Pictured here at 18, this leading rider, teacher, trainer, and judge was photographed at the Eastern sector trials for the U.S. Equestrian Team in 1953. He obviously made the team as he is now in the record books for being the youngest rider at the time to represent the USET at 18.
One last hint: He was handy with pen and pencil too, and could have been a cartoonist by profession if he chose. Guess who?
