Organizers of the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** and the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials CCI**** (England) have negotiated a compromise on future date conflicts.

Earlier this year, Badminton organizers announced that from 2010 on, they would run their CCI**** on the weekend of the British May Day bank holiday, with cross-country running on Sunday and show jumping on the holiday Monday. Since Kentucky traditionally runs on the last weekend of April, there was a date conflict for the years of 2011 and 2016.

So in 2011, Badminton will run one week earlier, on April 22-25, allowing Kentucky to keep the April 28-May 1 date. Since that April date for Badminton is Easter weekend, they will keep their Sunday cross-country plans. In 2016, Kentucky will move to one week earlier, running on April 21-24, allowing Badminton to run on April 29-May 2.

Event directors Jane Atkinson of Kentucky and Hugh Thomas of Badminton hail the compromise as an example of the good relationship between the two premier events.
