LEXINGTON, KY – Last Saturday the cross country phase of the coveted Rolex Three Day Event competition drew a group of elite riders including Olympians William Fox-Pitt, Phillip Dutton, and Karen O’Connor. For the first time in Rolex history Professional’s Choice provided 6 and 9 Pocket Ice Boots to competitors’ horses in the vet box, quickening the recovery period from the event’s most physically demanding phase.

Horses entered the vet box directly off of the cross country course and were required to lower their temperature to an acceptable level within ten minutes to prove that they were fit enough to continue with the competition. This routine included continuously pouring ice water over the horses and sponging them down.

This year many Rolex Three Day Event competitors opted to ramp up their horse’s cooling process by placing Professional’s Choice Ice Boots on all four of the their legs.  The method behind the Professional’s Choice ice boots is unique in that it utilizes real ice in elastic pockets as opposed to gel packs to gradually cool the horse’s legs.
