Riding On The Beach In La Baule

The La Baule CSIO is set in the picturesque seaside town of La Baule-Escoublac in Brittany, France. The wide, sandy beach at La Baule is 12 kilometers long and on early mornings, riders can take their horses down to the beach at low tide and romp in the surf.

This year, photographer Tiffany Van Halle was up early and on hand to document it!

Then Guerdat and Corbinian went for a trot in the shallow waves. 


The Irish contingent, including (left) Bertram Allen and Michael Duffy (center), took an early morning stroll in the surf.

Leopold van Asten let Zidane play in the waves a bit.


Lauren Hough and Ohlala splashed away.


Glasgow van’t Merelsnest took a walk on the egde of the waves with his groom. 


Jos Verlooy’s groom Jenny Ducoffre cantered Sunshine on the beach.
