The country consists of five non-contiguous areas and is located in the southern Illinois in Jackson, Williamson, Jefferson, Perry & Saline counties consisting of approximately 45,000 acres. The country is rolling and in places rough and composed largely of farmland with coverts to allow long, open views, wooded sections, marshland and reclaimed strip mines. Wood panels have been placed over wire fences.

Trails through developed areas replace some fields and connect to bridle paths through woodlands. The Allamuchy territory is a 12 by 15 mile area in Warren and Sussex counties. This area is mostly farmland. All fences are coops, post and rails and stone walls.
