Based in Oakland, Calif., ReactorPanel has engineered a line of saddles to distribute weight evenly across the horse’s back. ReactorPanel makes saddles for multiple disciplines, including dressage, trail, endurance, hunter/jumper, fox hunting and cross-country.

ReactorPanel customers, equine chiropractors and back specialist veterinarians are among the growing list of believers in the product. Carmi Weininger, President of ReactorPanel Saddle Company, a dressage rider, had a mare with a chronically sore back. She tried many saddle options until she finally found a British company that offered an innovative saddle. The difference in her mare was significant. Weininger was so impressed; in 2000, she purchased the company and brought it to the United States, and the ReactorPanel Saddle Company was born.

“We are excited to welcome this inventive organization into the Phelps Media Group family!” said Mason Phelps, Jr., President of Phelps Media Group. “ReactorPanel Saddle Company has combined the traditional art of saddle fitting with science and technology to create a line of products designed to keep horses pain-free. We look forward to helping this company get the word out about their ground-breaking line of saddles.”

The ReactorPanel Company goes a step further to ensure the comfort of both horse and rider. They have a free, mandatory, two-week trial period policy to make certain the saddle fits both horse and rider perfectly.

“Currently our saddles are very popular where the horse has a vote. In the discipline of endurance or distance riding competition, the horse must pass a rigorous veterinary check at stages along the ride,” said Weininger. “If they have pain, they can’t pass the check. Likewise in dressage, the horse’s quality of performance and movement is affected by pain. Our saddles are designed to alleviate back pain.”

Just last month, My Wild Irish Gold owned by Valerie Kanavy and ridden by South Africa’s Eone Willemse won the Region 12 Championship Biltmore Challenge Endurance 100-Mile Ride in Asheville, NC in a ReactorPanel Saddle.

“We want to be associated with companies like ReactorPanel, who are actively working to help horses be more comfortable and perform to their fullest,” said Phelps.
