Princess Haya of Jordan announced she will run for a second and final four-year term as president of the Fédération Equestre Internationale.
According to The Jordan Times, several FEI nation groups and national federation heads asked her to run again. Supporters included Pablo Mayorga of Argentina, chairman of FEI Group VI, representing eight South American federations; and Sheikh Khalid Al Khalifa of Bahrain, chairman of FEI Group VII, representing 18 national federations in the Middle East

The election is scheduled in November at the FEI’s annual meeting in Taiwan.
Princess Haya began her first term on May 1, 2006. She is the first Arab in history to occupy the position of FEI president. One of her major initiatives so far has been changing the FEI rules surrounding drugs and medication.
