U.S. Equestrian Federation members can vote online now for the first time to choose the horse they\’d like to see named the first Farnam/Platform USEF Horse of the Year. The voting ends on Dec. 23.
The five finalists are: Abigail Wexner\’s Authentic, Beezie Madden\’s 2004 Olympic show jumping mount who won the $200,000 American Invitational this year; Plain Dealing Farm\’s Winsome Adante, winner of the Rolex Kentucky CCI**** for the third time with Kim Severson; Peggy Thomas\’ Brentina, whom Debbie McDonald rode to third place in the FEI Dressage World Cup Final; Sybil Humphrey\’s Cefnoakpark Bouncer, the pony Suzy Stafford drove to the gold medal at the World Pony Driving Championships; and John Kelly\’s WR Sonaskada +//, who\’s won more national championships (19) and reserve national championships (12) than any other Arabian in history.
Members can also vote for their top choice among eight Equestrians of the Year: Madden, dressage star George Williams, hunter rider and trainer Louise Serio, vaulting star Devon Maitozo, Saddlebred/roadster trainer Raymond Shively, Morgan trainer/rider Mike Goebig; Morgan rider Garn Walker, and Arabian trainer Gregory Gallun.

The voting for Equestrian of the Year also ends on Dec. 23.
