Olympians Headline Inaugural Maryland 5 Star Entry List

The entry list for the inaugural Maryland 5 Star is out and 45 pairs are signed up to contest the event, to be held Oct. 13-17 in Elkton, Maryland.

A CCI3*-L and the USEA Young Event Horse East Coast Championships will be held alongside the five-star event.

Headlining the five-star is three-time Land Rover Kentucky Three-Day Event winner Oliver Townend of Great Britain. He’ll be riding his two-time Kentucky winner Cooley Master Class. British rider Harry Meade also will  come back across the pond  with his 2021 Kentucky ride, Superstition.

New Zealand’s Tim and Jonelle Price are bringing two of their 2021 Kentucky horses, Xavier Faer and Classic Moet.

For the United States, Buck Davidson has three rides in Carlevo, Erroll Gobey and Jak My Style, while 2021 Tokyo Olympians Boyd Martin and Phillip Dutton have two rides each. Lauren Nicholson, Will Faudree and Will Coleman will also have two rides each.

Three riders will be making their five-star debut: Ashlynn Meuchel, Lexi Scovil and Emma Lomangino.
