After careful deliberation, the members of the Eventing Committee for the Colorado Horse Park in Parker, Colo., have decided to postpone their CCI** and CCI* so they can upgrade the footing, update the course, and find funding for these improvements.
The event traditionally runs on Memorial Day weekend, and the committee members hope that enhancements can be made in time for their fall horse trials, scheduled for Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
“The anticipated course changes are entirely new tracks for all levels and improved footing on those tracks, with special provisions for bad weather,” said committee member Tom Angle. “The improvements are absolutely critical to provide the highest level of safety for the competitors.”

The estimate for making those changes is between $100,000 and $175,000.
