The new website of the United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Region 6 was announced by Region 6 Director Donna Longacre on March 26, 2013.  After several years of searching for a volunteer to design and maintain the site, the Region 6 community now has access to a reliable and informative website.

The launch of the new website, which offers quick and easy access to essential information about USDF Region 6 and the Group Member Organizations (GMO) within the Region, is part of the Region Director’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of communication and availability of information to members and dressage enthusiasts worldwide.  “I am so excited to have this website launched because it is going to fill a deep need we have to improve communications in order to coordinate efforts in our Region and to bring our Region together,”  stated Donna Longacre, Region 6 Director.

The website boasts a classy design and is divided into five sections: a home page, about the region, GMOs, classifieds and contact.  The home page will feature regional, national and international dressage related news, the about page provides detailed information on how dressage is organized in the US including a brief tutorial on governance.  The GMO and contacts page provide important links to connect members and those interested in dressage with volunteers and the classified page is a highly desired and many times over requested website feature designed to connect horse people.

Other new functions include a photo gallery, “Ask the Expert” column, member articles and a GMO spotlight.    Future improvements planned include creating a Regional calendar and inclusion of local GMO news via RSS feed integration.   Website designer Christine Montfort states, “There is always room for improvement and we would like to see additional features added to the site. We already have some great ideas from members and welcome more. We will do the best we can to incorporate them into the site if possible.”
