New Pony Club Riding Centers Announced

A year ago the Board of Governors for the U.S. Pony Club approved a test program that would make Pony Club membership available for youngsters who don’t own their own horses.

This initiative, the Pony Club Riding Center Program, works with facilities that already have a lesson program.  Barns must be able to offer the core disciplines of Pony Club and be able to handle the administrative work of running a Pony Club Riding Center.

Now USPC officials have announced the locations of the first five riding centers:  Headquarters Place Farm, Front Royal, Va.; Hybid Farm, Acton, Mass.; Jordan Stables, Wayland, Mass.; Peace Point Equestrian Center at Bethany College, Bethany, W.Va.; and Signal Knob Equestrian Center, Evansville, Ind.

For the first five years, the program will be run as a test.  A few new centers will be added throughout that time as USPC leaders analyze the program is and make adjustments if necessary.
