What You Need To Know: 2020 MARS Great Meadow International

Top level international eventing is back in the United States this week at the MARS Great Meadow International, Aug. 20-23 in The Plains, Virginia.

The event is hosting the first CCI4*-S since the COVID-19 pandemic shut down competitions, and the entry list is stacked with 70 of the country’s top riders.

But that’s not all. Great Meadow is also offering a CCI2*-S, CCI3*-S, a preliminary horse trial and a newly added CCI3*-L for riders hoping to get qualifications for the future.

Dressage kicks off Wednesday at 2:20 p.m. with the CCI2*-S, and CCI4*-S dressage will be held Thursday and Friday.

Horse and Country TV will livestream the event. All three phases of the CCI4*-S will be live, and show jumping and cross-country for the other divisions will be available on-demand. Subscriptions are $10. To watch the livestream visit https://horseandcountry.tv/en-us/.

• No general admission spectators will be allowed on the grounds, and the event is following strict COVID-19 protocols.
