Members of the New England Dressage Association (NEDA) have the opportunity to “show for a good cause” during NEDA’s Dressage Schooling Show on August 5th. The show will benefit T.H.E FARM (Tewksbury Hospital Equestrian FARM) which provides equine therapeutic programs for the general public, as well as for clients of Tewksbury Hospital, schools and other service agencies.
“This show is held at a very horse friendly facility- it really gives exhibitors a low key event to kick back at without a ton of added pressure. We always have a good time and it was a great first show of the season for my young horse,” said Linda Mendenhall, exhibitor. The NEDA Schooling Show to benefit T.H.E FARM will take place August 5 and all proceeds from the show benefit T.H.E. FARM.
“The May show was well attended and we had a wait list, so please get your entries in early,” said Diana Lane, Show Manager, adding that the August benefit show is the second show of the year. “Opening day is July 2 so mark your calendars, send in your entries and get ready to enjoy this great show – which supports a really great cause.”
The NEDA Schooling Show to benefit T.H.E. FARM is in its ninth season and is a great place for riders interesting in competing at a friendly, well run, low key event. “The judges are NEDA members and USDF “L’ Graduates,” Lane said. “The facility is wonderful and a great opportunity to get into the show ring.”
T.H.E. FARM was incorporated as a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in1998. Although situated on the site of Tewksbury Hospital, T.H.E. FARM is neither part of the hospital nor a state agency and receives no federal or state funding. It was built largely with donations from individuals, businesses and private charitable foundations. “T.H.E. FARM has helped so many people over the years and NEDA is always thrilled to support such a wonderful cause. T.H.E. FARM’s theme is ‘Where Special Horses Help Special People,’ and as horse people we take pride in helping support these special horses and people,” Lane said.
NEDA was founded in 1972 and has grown into an organization with over 1,800 members and features major competitions, numerous activities and a national reputation for attracting top quality trainers from all over the world to their education events. NEDA is the largest single chapter American Dressage Organization in the country and offers members top quality education, competitive and scholarship opportunities, team competitions, exhibitions and social events.
