John and Lynn Boomer announced their retirement at the end of 2009 after managing The Dressage Foundation for more than a decade. John served as President and CEO while Lynn served as administrative director. During their tenure the Foundation managed to raise more than $925,000 according to DressageDaily.com.
“We think of hundreds of recipients of scholarships and grants awarded by the Foundation, which were made possible by donors to The Dressage Foundation. We applaud our distinguished Board of Directors and cadre of volunteers who have played a major role in the Foundation’s success. We have loved our years at the Foundation’s helm, and our hearts will continue to be with you as we enter our retirement years!” read a statement from the couple.
John will continue to serve as secretary of the board of directors and will work with the new staff as a transition consultant for six months.

Two staff members have been added to the team. Melissa Filipi will serve as the development director, and Jenny Johnson will serve as the administrative manager.
The Dressage Foundation is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, tax-exempt, donor-driven organization that is dedicated to supporting and advancing the sport of dressage. The organization solicits contributions, appropriately allocates the donations, and awards grants and scholarships to dressage riders of all ages and levels.
