Leslie Law Wins 2009 USEA Gold Cup

Leslie Law earned the Adequan USEA Gold Cup this year after the series wrapped up at the Twin Rivers Horse Trials (Calif.).

Law began earning points with a second-placed finish at The Fork Horse Trials (N.C.) in April.  He and Fleeceworks Mystere du Val went on to win the Gold Cup trophy at the Richland Park Horse Trials CIC*** (Mich.) and the advanced division at the American Eventing Championships.

Leslie Law earned the Adequan USEA Gold Cup this year after the series wrapped up at the Twin Rivers Horse Trials (Calif.).

Law began earning points with a second-placed finish at The Fork Horse Trials (N.C.) in April.  He and Fleeceworks Mystere du Val went on to win the Gold Cup trophy at the Richland Park Horse Trials CIC*** (Mich.) and the advanced division at the American Eventing Championships.

Law, Bluemont, Va., clinched the win with 655 points, almost 200 points ahead of reserve champion Jennie Brannigan and her 8-year-old Dutch Warmblood, Cooper. Brannigan won the intermediate Gold Cup last year, but this year the advanced and intermediate divisions were combined into one award.

Law will receive $10,000 for earning the title and recognition at the U.S. Eventing Association’s Annual Meeting & Convention this December in Reston (Va.).
