Following an update to the Longines Rankings published today, May 6, Kent Farrington has been confirmed as the new World No. 1, taking the lead on the list with 3,269 points.
U.S. riders now hold the world No. 1 rankings in jumping, eventing and para-dressage.

Farrington has enjoyed a string of strong performances on home soil in Wellington, Florida, and in Lexington, Kentucky. His most recent triumph, a commanding win at the $400,000 Kentucky International CSI5* in Lexington, earned him crucial ranking points—propelling him to the top of the Longines Rankings. After months of chasing Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann, Farrington now claims the coveted top spot.
This is the second time in Farrington’s career that he has led the global standings. He first reached the No. 1 spot in May 2017, overtaking fellow U.S. athlete McLain Ward. Farrington held the leading position for a full year before ceding it to the Netherlands’ Harrie Smolders in May 2018. Farrington and Ward remain the only U.S. athletes to have held the top spot in the Longines Rankings in the 15 years the Fédération Equestre Internationale has been keeping track.

This marks the end of a significant era for the discipline of jumping, as von Eckermann has been at the top for the longest consecutive period—since August 2022—and held the widest gap registered in the last 14 years, when he had a 593-point advantage from France’s Julien Epaillard in May 2023.
Behind Farrington, Great Britain’s Ben Maher climbs to second (3,064 points) followed by von Eckermann, who is now third on 3,026 points. Olympic champion Christian Kukuk of Germany drops to fourth with 2,928 points, while Steve Guerdat of Switzerland maintains his fifth position with a tally of 2,886 points.
