Katie Monahan Prudent has been elected to the International Jumping Riders Club board of directors after the North American Riders Group nominated her. She has the task of “unifying North American riders and international riders in their collective efforts to advance the sport of show jumping,” according to a NARG press release.
Prudent brings a unique number of qualifications to the position. She’s lived and competed abroad for over a decade, including competing for the United States and France, and is a three-time American Grand Prix Association rider of the year.
“We agree with the FEI that clean sport and fair play are essential to the future of show jumping,” said Prudent. “It is also critical that reason and common sense be applied to rule enforcement. I am hopeful that the IJRC can contribute to a healthy future for show jumping world-wide.”
