New England’s exclusive equestrian show jumping event, The Jumper Classic is pleased to announce new dates have been selected for 2012. The five-day show will now run from Wednesday, August 8 to Sunday, August 12 in lieu of September 12-16 at the Silver Oak Equestrian Center in Hampton Falls, N.H.
“The Jumper Classic advisory board made the decision to change the date for the betterment of the sport. We wanted to give the riders the opportunity to compete at not only The Jumper Classic, but also at the American Gold Cup in September. By moving the date to August, the two shows will not overlap,” said Melissa Lovasco, President and CEO of The Jumper Classic.
The Jumper Classic has been a show jumping tradition since 1989, and for 2012 offers more than $200,000 in prize money and 50 classes. Highlights of the event include a $12,000 Speed Derby, $15,000 Equine Insurance Services Speed Stake, and the $75,000 Fidelity Investments Grand Prix.
“The Jumper Classic is known as the Riders’ Horse Show, and this move accommodates those who wish to participate at both great events. This also offers riders the chance to put their horses on a grass Grand Prix field before they compete at the Hampton Classic at the end of August,” Mike Belisle, Show Manager for The Jumper Classic.

The move to August for the Jumper Classic will be a great addition to the summer show jumping calendar. It allows all school age competitors to show at this world class event. Having the show in September excluded them from experiencing these wonderful show grounds in picturesque Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.
Silver Oak Equestrian Center features a five-acre grass Grand Prix field and five all-weather German Geo Textile footing rings.
