Horses have been a constant focal point in Blakeslee’s life. She spent many years in Dallas (Texas) as an instructor before moving to Florida to pursue a full-time career as an artist. Even during her time as a trainer, she had numerous commissions for portraits and paintings.

Blakeslee received her bachelor of fine arts degree, with an emphasis on drawing and painting, from the University of North Texas. She is represented by Vandermoore during the Winter Equestrian Festival (Fla.) and Beresford Gallery during Saratoga (N.Y.). Judges Decision is a 16″ x 20″ acrylic on canvas.
