Wellington, FL – December 22, 2013 – John Blackburn has been on an extensive tour of the country to celebrate the launch of his book, Healthy Stables by Design. He has traveled to many of the farms featured in the book for private signing events and has made public appearances at bookshops, museums, equestrian venues and major horse shows. Blackburn was also asked to participate in the prestigious National Press Club Book Fair presented by Politics & Prose, an active and well-known Washington, D.C., bookseller.
All author profits from the sale of Healthy Stables by Design have and will continue to be donated to various equine charities including Hooved Animal Humane Society, PATH International’s Wounded Warrior Project, Reins Therapeutic Riding Program, The Equine Rescue League and many more.
“I want to thank all those who hosted events and the horse charities who participated in the signing events for my book,” said Blackburn. “Many of the barn owners and bookshops went to extraordinary lengths to help promote my book and the needs of their favorite equine charity.”
Blackburn completed a total of 18 events in two months and sold over 200 copies of the book, raising over $7,000 for various horse charities.
“The book tour has inspired me to find ways to continue to help horse charities in the future,” said Blackburn. “There are a lot of horse charities out there that need our help. Though I can’t help them all, I will look for opportunities to continue to give back to horses what they have given me over the past 30 years.”
