Jerich International, the Austrian-based global logistics enterprise, has been named the Official Logistics Partner of the Exquis World Dressage Masters lineup of premier events in the United States and Europe.

Jerich International will sponsor the World Dressage Masters (WDM) CDI5* events that includes Palm Beach, Florida, Munich, Germany and Hickstead, England each with €100,000 (US$145,000) in prize money for 2010 and 2011.

Jerich International’s sponsorship was announced Friday by the firm’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, Herbert Jerich, and SportBizz, a Dutch-based sports marketing firm that manages WDM and other sporting events.

Jerich joins Exquis stables owned by Anthony M. Kies who founded WDM along with Moorland Investments BV and Moorlands Stables owned by Tosca and Kees Visser of The Netherlands, and Nürnberger Versicherunggruppe of Germany as major sponsors of the world’s richest lineup of dressage competitions.

Jerich announced earlier in January that it had agreed to sponsor the Dutch rider Adelinde Cornelissen, ranked second in the world, so she could acquire the half-interest in Parzival that she did not own to insure control of the horse’s competition schedule.

“Jerich International is a global logistics enterprise and the World Dressage Masters represents the highest level of a magnificent sport appreciated around the world,” said Herbert Jerich, who is the sole owner of the business that he operates as a family venture.

“Dressage strives to achieve excellence in every way — the philosophy that has guided Jerich International since its founding four decades ago and is a core principle of our growth throughout Europe and the United States.
“The extraordinary partnership between horse and rider is the fulfillment of the kind of partnership that Jerich International builds with its customers around the world.

“We are delighted to be a sponsor of the World Dressage Masters.” Anthony Kies of Exquis welcomed the sponsorship of Jerich International.

“The support of a corporation the size and reputation of Jerich International is a strong endorsement of the impact World Dressage Masters has had creating premier competitions in the United States and Europe,” he said.
Jerich International was founded in Austria in 1969 and has grown into a global group of companies offering a holistic logistics approach of freight forwarding through global supply chain management to large-scale trade and industry customers.

In additions to its headquarters in Austria, it has established operations in Italy, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium and the Czech Republic. In the United States, Jerich operates facilities in the New York/New Jersey area, Atlanta, Charleston, South Carolina, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles and Miami.
The 2010 schedule of confirmed WDM competitions is:

* Feb. 4-6 – Palm Beach, Florida;
* May 13-16 – Munich, Germany, and
* July 29-Aug. 1, Hickstead, England.

Participation by the City of Cannes, on the French Riviera, that was among the 2009 venues, is being reviewed as the date in 2010 conflicts with a national championship in Europe.

Discussions are being held with organizers of other premier horse shows to host a WDM event.

Each competition consists of a Grand Prix with prize money of €10,000 (US$14,500) of up to 20 riders from the top of the FEI Rider Rankings List, qualifying through a CDI3* or by special invitation.

Up to eight, and a minimum of six, advance to the Grand Prix Freestyle with prize money of €60,000 (US$87,000) and the remaining 12 to the Grand Prix Special with a purse of €30,000 (US$43,500).

Nürnberger Versicherunggruppe, the sponsor of the world famous Nürnberger Burg-Pokal high performance horse development series in Germany, created the WDM Rider Rankings offering a bonus of €25,000 (US$36,280).
