The Japan Equestrian Federation has announced the horses and riders who have been recommended to the Japanese Olympic Committee for the show jumping and eventing teams for the Paris Olympics.

Show Jumping

• Eiken Sato on Chadellano JRA, groomed by Vivien Elder

            • Reserve horses: Conthargo Blue and Melypso Blue PS FRH

• Taizo Sugitani on Quincy 194, groomed by Brooke Shannae Dougall

• Takashi Haase Shibayama on Karamell M&M, groomed by Kim Berwe

The reserve combination will be Mike Kawai on Promise Z, groomed by Mohamed Cherif Alloui.

Eventing

• Yoshiaki Oiwa on MGH Grafton Street, groomed by Emily Gibson

• Ryuzo Kitajima on Cekatinka JRA, groomed by Matthew Glentworth

• Kazuma Tomoto on Vinci De La Vigne JRA, groomed by Jackie Potts
