The Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports has named five horse-and-rider combinations to compete in the FEI Eventing World Championships to be held Sept. 14-18, in Pratoni del Vivaro, Italy. Four riders will compete on the team and one as an individual, which will be determined by Sept. 5.

The riders, in alphabetical order, are:

• Evelina Bertoli on Fidjy Des Melezes
• Susanna Bordone on Imperial Van De Holtakkers
• Marco Cappai on Uter
• Arianna Schivo on Quefira De L’Ormeau
• Giovanni Ugolotti on Duke Of Champions or Swirly Temptress

Two reserve combinations have been named as well:

• Mattia Luciani on Leopold K
• Pietro Sandei on Rubis De Prere
