Illinois Teenager Lone U.S. Entrant In Junior/Young Rider World Endurance Championships

Ashlee van Raalte, 18, of Scales Mound, Ill., will ride a borrowed horse in the FEI Junior/Young Rider World Endurance Championships. She\'ll be the only American participant in the championships, which will be held in Bahrain on Dec. 15-18.

Van Raalte is scheduled to ride one of two horses owned by Sheikh Madiya al Maktoum of the United Arab Emirates on the 75-mile course.

The organizers are expecting more than 150 entries from a record 33 countries.
