Four-time Olympian Ian Stark is out of intensive care but still under close surveillance after suffering a brain bleed on Sunday, August 10.
A severe headache struck the 55-year-old Scottish event rider while on his way to teach a lesson. Further tests are being carried out to determine the as yet unknown cause of the bleed.
“He pulled over near Haverfordwest [Wales], called an ambulance and was taken to Withybush hospital for a brain scan,” stated daughter Steph Robinson. “They found a small bleed in his brain and moved him that night to Cardiff.”

Although recently retired from riding, Stark has added the titles of internationally renowned trainer and course designer to his résumé.
