Horse Dies At Millbrook Horse Trials

A horse collapsed and died Saturday after completing the cross-country course at Millbrook Horse Trials in Millbrook, New York, organizers announced.

Could’ve Ben And Jerrys, a 19-year-old Zangersheide gelding (Nintender—Newborn Trixical Walker) ridden and owned by Morgan McGrath, had just completed the cross-country in the open preliminary and was leading the division.

The horse will undergo a necropsy at the Cornell University Equine Hospital (New York). McGrath was uninjured.

The Millbrook Horse Trials and the USEA extend their condolences to McGrath and Could’ve Ben And Jerry’s connections.
