Jonathan Holling and Tinkatoo topped the 40-horse field in the inaugural fall two-star at the Florida Horse Park in Ocala, Fla. But there’s a long way to go before the weekend’s end, and Holling has some fierce competitors behind him including Olympians Darren Chiacchia, Leslie Law and Bruce Davidson.
Capt. Mark Phillips’ cross-country course will certainly test accuracy. Of the 25 fences, there are five corners and several skinnies for 33 total jumping efforts.
The beginning of the course is fairly straightforward with several galloping fences for riders to find their rhythm. But riders should take care not to use all the gas in the tank early on course because three tough combinations await them near the end of the course.

Ireland’s Hilda Donahue and Ashmores Godsend will start the two-star cross-country off at 10:55 on Saturday.
