France Has A Powerful One-Two Punch
On paper, they have the credentials to pull off an upset, writes Birgit Popp.

The French could be the one continental European team to break the near lock Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and the United States have had on eventing championships for most of the last 20 years. With Jean Teulere, on Espoir de la Mare, and Nicolas Touzaint, on Galan de Sauvagere, their team includes the reigning individual World Champions and the reigning individual European Champions. Furthermore, the French teams won the silver medals in the 2002 World Equestrian Games and the 2003 Europeans behind the United States and Great Britain. And they did the same thing at the 2001 European Championships and the 1998 WEG.
