Fédération Equestre Internationale President Princess Haya has called on the FEI Executive Board to take a more active role in key matters facing equestrian sport in 2010.
Following its first meeting of the year, which took place via conference call yesterday on Jan. 12, the FEI Bureau approved Haya’s proposal. They named four FEI leaders to the Executive Board including Germany’s Hanfried Haring, who is chairman of Geographical Group II, Argentina’s Pablo Mayorga, who is chairman of Geographical Group VI, First Vice President Sven Holmberg of Sweden and Second Vice President Chris Hodson of New Zealand.

The terms of the current Executive Board members run through to the 2010 General Assembly in November, coinciding with the end of the President’s current term in office.
The FEI Bureau will decide on the specific mandate of the Executive Board, whose role is generally to interface with FEI Headquarters to oversee and support the implementation of resolutions further to an agenda approved by the Bureau.
