FEI Executive Board Asks FEI Dressage Committee To Resign

The Fédération Equestre Internationale Executive Board has requested the immediate resignation of the entire FEI Dressage Committee. Executive Board members made this decision following a series of issues indicating the current committee's lack of flexibility on certain key matters. The committee has been seen to work in isolation, not fully representing the interests of the dressage community as a whole.

The Fédération Equestre Internationale Executive Board has requested the immediate resignation of the entire FEI Dressage Committee. Executive Board members made this decision following a series of issues indicating the current committee’s lack of flexibility on certain key matters. The committee has been seen to work in isolation, not fully representing the interests of the dressage community as a whole.

Belgium’s Mariette Withages is the current chairman of the FEI Dressage Committee. Vincenzo Truppa of Italy is the deputy chairman. Other members include Dolores Fernandez de Bobadilla of Spain, Minako Furuoka of Japan and Dieter Schuele of Germany. Germany’s Monica Theodorescu is the rider’s representative.

An interim solution is being discussed within the FEI in order to ensure the sound management of the sport whilst reviewing the strategic direction of dressage. The names of the interim committee and their mandate will follow according to the FEI press release.
