Traverse City, MI – June 16, 2011 –Horse Sports by the Bay is pleased to announce that English Riding Supply has renewed its support of this year’s Horse Shows by the Bay. What started six years ago as a small, low-key sponsorship has since transitioned into a much-expanded awards program, including the creation of the Horse Shows by the Bay Ovation Leading Rider Award.
The prestigious and much sought-after Ovation Leading Rider Award rewards riders who are at the top of their respective series leaderboard with a $500 gift certificate to the comprehensive English Riding Supply catalog. Eleven riders are recognized out of several divisions, from Children’s Hunters to Open Jumpers.
The vast English Riding Supply catalog, a 400 page giant, includes the world renowned brands of Pessoa, Veredus and Mountain Horse, as well as the Ovation line of breeches, helmets, and horse clothing.
For riders like 2010 Ovation Leading Professional Hunter Rider Peter Pletcher and 2010 Ovation Leading Junior Hunter Rider Laura Pfeiffer, winning the award is, “like Christmas, there’s so much to choose from!”

In their quest to recognize how much hard work and dedication it takes to be the very best, English Riding Supply is also awarding participants quality wool show coolers and various other products throughout the festival this year.
Horse Shows by the Bay is one of the country’s most popular summer circuits and is located in the vacation-destination town of Traverse City, MI. Kicking things off on June 30th is three days of rated Dressage competition followed by four weeks of action-packed show jumping, equitation, and show hunter events. More than half a million dollars in prize money will be distributed.
