Marcus Ehning, one of 13 Germans ranked in the top 50 of the FEI Gandini Jumping Riders World Ranking List, is the No. 1 ranked show jumper in the world, as of July 31. He\’d been previously ranked fifth.
Anky van Grunsven, who just won the European Championships in July, continues as the No. 1-ranked rider on the FEI/BCM Dressage Riders World Ranking List.
Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum of Germany, winner of the Budweiser FEI World Cup Final in April, is the No. 2-ranked show jumper. Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil, Ludger Beerbaum of Germany and Markus Fuchs of Switzerland round out the top five. Ehning and Michaels\’Beerbaum were each on the German gold-medal team at last month\’s European Championships, along with individual gold medalist Marco Kutscher, who climbed from 10th to seventh.
Edward Gal of the Netherlands stands second in the dressage rankings, ahead of Jan Brink of Sweden, Robert Dover of the United States and Beatriz Ferrer-Salat of Spain. Dover dropped one place from the previous month.

Dover is one of four U.S. riders ranked in the top 50: Leslie Morse is 13th, Gunter Seidel is 25th, and Debbie McDonald is 50th. Some 14 German riders are among the top 50; six Dutch riders are there too.
Beezie Madden is the highest-ranked of the eight U.S. show jumpers in the top 50, in 15th place. McLain Ward is 17th, Laura Kraut 18th, Peter Wylde 24th, Richard Spooner 28th, Schuyler Riley 33rd, Margie Engle 38th, and Chris Kappler 46th.
Meg Sleeper (24th), Stephen Rojek (40th) and Heather Reynolds 49th) are the only Americans ranks among the top 50 in the endurance rankings.
Belinda Hitzler of Germany is No. 1, followed by Maurice Saint of France and Sheik Hazza bin Zayed al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates, winner of the individual World Championship in February. Twelve UAE riders are in the top 50, along with nine from France.
