The federal lawsuit filed Tuesday accuses DSU of Title IX discrimination against female athletes. Blakely is seeking class-action status for the lawsuit, which states that she was promised a scholarship by DSU and learned only through a Facebook posting that the school was cutting the team.

With the passing of the letter-of-intent signing date, Blakely claims she can’t obtain a full scholarship at another Division I school.
