Although Munnings’ style was clearly recognizable at an early stage, there’s considerable variation in his paint application in the early years of the 20th century.

This painting was previously exhibited in London at Sotheby’s, An English Idyll, in 2001 and in Dedham, England, at The Sir Alfred Munnings Art Museum, where it was on loan until 2004.
