Got Treats? By Andrea Harman Steiner

Working primarily in oils, Andrea Harman Steiner finds her interest mainly focused on traditional sporting art, depicting the excitement and color of racing, foxhunting, steeplechase and polo. Although she no longer owns a horse of her own, Steiner draws on her experiences of riding and caring for horses in her youth to accurately portray them in their environment today.

Got Treats? By Andrea Harman Steiner

Working primarily in oils, Andrea Harman Steiner finds her interest mainly focused on traditional sporting art, depicting the excitement and color of racing, foxhunting, steeplechase and polo. Although she no longer owns a horse of her own, Steiner draws on her experiences of riding and caring for horses in her youth to accurately portray them in their environment today.

Steiner’s work is in many private collections throughout North America, including the Ontario Jockey Club. Her work has been shown in juried exhibits at the Kentucky Derby Museum, the International Museum of the Horse (Ky.), the Museum of Polo (Fla.), and the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif.

This week’s cover, Got Treats?, is a 12” x 16” oil on linen of a pony curiously peeking out of the stall.

Steiner is a member of the American Academy of Equine Art, the Society of Animal Artists and the Oil Painters of America. She works out of her studio in Rochester, Mich.
