This week's cover by Lynne McIntosh, Horse And His Man, is a 24" x 36" pastel of Vienna Waltz and Richard P. Maioriello competing at Dressage At Devon (Pa.). The painting is based on a photograph by Terri Miller, taken when Vienna Waltz was 3.

Vienna Waltz later became U.S. Dressage Federation first level horse of the year in 1988 and Central States Mature Horse Champion in 1998. He died in 2004 at age 23.

McIntosh has loved to draw and paint since her childhood in New Jersey. She was named the official artist of the Little Brown Jug, crown jewel event of harness racing’s Triple Crown of Pacing, and she’s been commissioned to paint 20 Jug winners since 1984. McIntosh also painted the first two inductees into the Hoosier Park (Ind.) Hall of Fame, Single G and Dan Patch, and was named official artist of the 2000 Foxhall Cup (Ga.) and the 2003 Equine Affaire (Ohio).

Her studio is located in Tannery Row, Buford, Ga. She currently resides in Suwanee, Ga.
