Quiet Moment
Marnie Donaldson has been creating award-winning paintings in the beautiful Napa Valley of California for almost three decades. Originally a landscape painter, Donaldson has concentrated much of the past decade on painting people interacting with horses, primarily in a horse show setting.
She uses the elements of light, gesture and color—combined with bold strokes of pastel or oil paint—to instill her work with feeling. Thus, she captures the varying moods of the horse show world from the serenity of a quiet moment to the tension and excitement of competition.

Donaldson’s pastel titled Quiet Moment was part of an American Academy of Equine Artists exhibit at the National Sporting Library, Middleburg, Va., held during the summer of 2000.
