She has been painting professionally for more than 20 years, and her love for and experience with dogs and horses find their way through her brush and onto her canvases. This week’s cover, Stablemates, is an example of the merging of her two favorite subjects.

Wende, Canton, Ga., spends most of her studio time completing commissioned portraits, but she also distributes her original oils to annual shows and events including the Sporting Days Art Show (S.C.), and The Beresford Gallery in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., in August. Wende also participates in several American Academy of Equine Art Shows and exhibits through jury and invitation.
