Pesek studied studio art at Southern Methodist University (Texas), where she developed her layered technique, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of St. Thomas (Minn.) in 1989.

Over the past 20 years, Pesek has perfected her art and has produced more than 500 pieces. Jumper is from the artist collection and was produced in 2002.
