Capley, a graduate of Illinois State University, said that she tries to “depict horses caught in an instant.” Piaffe is 16″ x 6″ x 13” metal on a marble and wood base, which is also in the perpetual trophy collection of the Lamplight (Ill.) Equestrian Center. In 2001, she completed a life-size grouping of three horses galloping, which are displayed in the main terminal at the Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington, Ill. Capley, of Chenoa, Ill., currently competes at second level on her dressage horse, a Thoroughbred-Percheron.
