Horses have been a constant focal point in her life, and Blakeslee spent many years in Dallas, Texas, as a riding instructor before she moved to Florida to pursue a full-time career as an artist. Even during her time as a trainer, she had numerous commissions for portraits and paintings, so art was never far from her mind.

Blakeslee received her bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the University of North Texas, and her artwork has graced many program covers through-out the country. This week’s cover, Coaches And Comrades, is a 18″ x 24″ acrylic on canvas.
