She’s been riding in various disciplines since age 9 and never lost her interest in the horses no matter what its breed or type.

“I never get tired of looking at them. I can paint other things, but if it has to do with horses, then that’s the direction I want to go,” she said. “I have been privileged to have worked for the most wonderful clients and done some of the best horses, whether champions or just for their character.”

This week’s cover, Just For Fun, a 10″ x 14″ colored pencil drawing, is of the late show hunter who was a
dominant force in the sport from coast-to-coast in the 1980s and early ’90s (see p. 230).

“I work from photographs, which I usually take myself as it’s always best if you can see the horse, but then there are times when they are no longer with the clients and you have to see what you can come up with,” she said.

Forsyth resides in Prescott, Ariz., for its vistas and growing horse community.
