Aquarius By Debi Fitzgerald

Debi Fitzgerald knew from an early age that she wanted to be an artist, and toward this goal she combined her abilities wth her love of horses. Her artwork is noted for capturing the essence of the people, horses and dogs she portrays.

Whether the medium is pastel, charcoal or oil, the sense of individuality and personality of the subject is a distinguishing characteristic of Fitzgerald’s work. This week’s cover, Aquarius, is a 20″ x 26″ pastel portrait.

Before moving to Ocala, Fla., to learn the Thoroughbred business from the ground up, Fitzgerald studied two years at Louisiana Tech and then graduated with a bachelor of fine arts from Florida State University in 1980. She did ad design, photography and drawing while employed  in the production department of The Florida Horse from 1984 to 1986.

Since 1986, Fitzgerald has worked exclusively on her artwork.
