For the first time since her accident in early March Courtney Dye is speaking.
”Courtney has been working with her speech therapist daily,” wrote her husband Jason on her website, www.courtneykingdressage.com. “She started today saying a vague ‘Hi’ and by the end of the day was saying ‘Thank you for your hard work’ to one of her nurses.
“She still has a long journey ahead of her in the Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy sessions,” he continued. “However Court continues to amaze me with her strength, determination and positive attitude in such a life changing situation. Hopefully the next update will come from her!”

Courtney’s mentor and trainer, Lendon Gray, also had positive things to say, but was conscious of the long road ahead for her.
“Courtney is now very alert and communicating by nodding, shaking her head, smiling frowning, or giving thumbs up signs. Her days are filled with rehab, visits from family and very close friends, and her dogs. She has made remarkable progress but there is still so much ahead,” Gray said.
