Conservationists Concerned As Congressional Committee Advises Reducing Easement Deductions

The Joint Committee on Taxation of Congress has recommended changing the tax deductions landowners can take for donating a conservation easement to a conservancy, land trust, government or other charitable organization. Should Congress choose to implement these changes, the tax benefits of placing land under conservation easement would be directly threatened.
