The Equiventures Organizing Committee reported the death of Consensus, an 18-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Contucci—Miss Me Not, Count Brook) owned by Julie Norman and ridden by Adriana Beruvides at the Ocala Winter I Horse Trials in Ocala, Florida.
Consensus was competing in the open preliminary division, when he collapsed during the cross-country phase between fences 16 and 17 and died of natural causes. Beruvides was attended to on site and then was transferred to Ocala Regional Hospital for further care.
