The Colorado Horse Park and the Step By Step Foundation are working together to help support the victims of the Waldo Canyon fire. As an alliance they are assembling a Wildfire Relief Fundraising Auction, and all proceeds will go directly to Colorado Springs Together, which serves as the primary community organization to restore the lives and structures affected by the Waldo Canyon Fire. The benefit auction will take place at CHP (7522 S. Pinery Drive, Parker, CO 80134) on Saturday July 21 in front of the main office beginning at 3:00 p.m.
“We are seeing some amazing outpouring of support for the residents affected by the Waldo Canyon fire. If everyone will do just one small thing to help, the results can be profound,” the Mayor of Colorado Springs, Steve Bach, told CHP.
Step by Step Foundation and CHP agreed, and are leaping to the aid of fire victims with a fundraiser to be held at the park. “Colorado is our community and in times like this we want to help,” said Kyle Fenner, CEO of CHP Foundation 501 (c) (3). “We are lucky to have the vehicle to do it, so we all jumped on board!”
“I try to change the world step by step,” explained Step by Step Foundation President and Founder Liliane Stransky, who has been working tirelessly with the support of her team of junior jumper riders to help secure donations for the upcoming silent auction.
As competitors at CHP, Stransky and daughter Daniela (15), Jose Fernando Bonetti (15), and Kelsie Brittan (16), and twins Jackson and Spencer Brittan (14), became aware and concerned for the families affected by the wildfires in Waldo Canyon, Colorado. With the community’s help, both the Colorado Horse Park Foundation and the Step By Step Foundation hope to make a profound difference in the lives of all affected by the Waldo Canyon wildfire.
There will be a variety of items that will excite and satisfy all bidders, as well as raise funds to relieve those affected by the wildfire. An assortment of luxury getaways will be up for grabs, as well as top of the line horse equipment and riding apparel. The organizations involved greatly appreciate any and all participation in the auction, and encourage everyone to come by and view and bid on the items.
The Colorado Horse Park Foundation strives to support educational programs that benefit amateur equestrian sports. The foundation works to advance equestrian skills through rider and horse conditioning, all the while promoting safety skills and awareness at every level. In addition, the foundation seeks to raise money for scholarships so students can attend various educational events and competitions. The goals of the foundation are fulfilled through the sponsorship of amateur athletics, preservation of open space, fundraising for charitable purposes and support of other non-profit organizations.
This mission was in alignment with the goals of the Step by Step Foundation, a non-profit that works to create change for underprivileged children and their families and seeks to improve less than ideal situations. Through a variety of charity programs, the Step By Step Foundation provides underprivileged families with supplies to both survive and thrive in society. The Step By Step Foundation believes that by helping those in need, children can be better prepared for the future while training younger generations to be cheerful givers.
