The Cleveland Bay Horse Society of North America will be holding its 2009 Annual General Meeting in Leesburg, VA the weekend of November 20-22, 2009.
On Friday November 20, we will be holding an informative and interesting Cleveland Bay performance demonstration and discussion at Morven Park, beginning at 3:30 PM. The panel, comprised of horsemen and women expert in a variety of disciplines, will examine a selection of Cleveland Bay purebred and partbred horses and watch them go under saddle, followed by comments and discussion. The intent is to look at traits exhibited by various horses and to assess their likely strengths and weaknesses for certain areas of sport. It should be a lively exchange! We are also fortunate to be treated to an exhibition by international partbred Cleveland Bay eventer Mazetto and his owner, Ashley Kehoe. The session will be followed by a reception. There is no charge for this event.
On Saturday, the Cleveland Bay Horse Society of North America will hold its Annual General Meeting at the Holiday Inn Leesburg. The meeting will begin at 10 AM and there will also be a dinner at Logan’s Roadhouse in Sterling that evening. The CBHSNA Board of Directors will also meet on Friday afternoon at 12 Noon at Morven Park and on Sunday morning at the Holiday Inn.
On Sunday, Maryland’s New Market – Middletown Valley Hounds will host a Cleveland Bay hunt at our Heritage Hills fixture, located near Urbana, Maryland (Route 80 and Route 270, just south of Frederick, Maryland). I expect that we will have 15-20 purebred and partbred Cleveland Bays in the field. Enthusiasts are invited whether or not you will be mounted on a Cleveland Bay! Mounted guests are invited to cap for a $75 fee. Unmounted guests are free. Hounds will move off at 11 AM and a tailgate will follow.
