Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic

The Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic will take place Friday, July 6 through Saturday, July 21 at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field in Moreland Hills, Ohio. Special events planned for the 2012 horse show include:

The Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic will take place Friday, July 6 through Saturday, July 21 at the Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field in Moreland Hills, Ohio. Special events planned for the 2012 horse show include:

  • Opening Weekend competition for local riders – Friday, July 6 through Sunday, July 8
  • Riders with Disabilities Horse Show, hosted by Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center – Monday, July 9
  • Two weeks of USEF AA-rated hunter and Level 4-rated jumper competition – Wednesday, July 11 through Sunday, July 15 and Tuesday, July 17 through Saturday, July 21
    • $10,000/$5,000 Welcome Stake’s, $5,000/$3,000 Open Jumper Speed Stake’s, $5,000/$3,000 jumper classics, YJC Qualifiers
    • $1,000 Pony Hunter Classic, $750 hunter classics, Medal classes
    • $10,000 International Hunter Derby (Saturday, July 14) and $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Classic (Sunday, July 15)
    • Two grand prix events – the historic $30,000 Cleveland Grand Prix (Sunday, July 15) and the second-annual $25,000 CVPHA Grand Prix (Saturday, July 21)

Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic:

What: National horse show competition, featuring top children and adult riders from the local area and from as far away as Florida and California. Home of the historic Cleveland Grand Prix – North America’s first show jumping grand prix, which debuted at this show in 1965.

When: Friday, July 6 through Saturday, July 21

Where: Cleveland Metroparks Polo Field in Moreland Hills, Ohio, at the intersection of S. Woodland Road/Rte. 87 and Chagrin River Road.

The Chagrin Valley Hunter Jumper Classic is presented by the Chagrin Valley PHA (Professional Horsemen’s Association) Horse Show, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization headed by a voluntary Board of Trustees, comprised of local residents, business leaders and equestrians.
